Ankle Pain
Ankle pain can occur for many reasons, but the most common cause is injury. When an ankle is injured, it must first be assessed for ligament, tendon, or bone damage. Depending on the root cause of the injury; adjustments, strengthening, stretching, ice and rest can all be a key part of treatment to not only heal the injury, but to restore function too.
Arthritis
Arthritis can be a very confusing term, in part because there are so many different words to describe it. The most common form is osteoarthritis. At its most simple definition, osteoarthritis is a negative change to a bone that causes inflammation in a joint. What a lot of people do not understand is that osteoarthritis happens for a reason. Most of the time it is from repetitive stressors over a long period of time. This means we need to treat the acute conditions the arthritis has created, as well as treating the reason the arthritis is occurring in the first place.
Bursitis
By definition, bursitis is inflammation of a bursa. A bursa is a fluid filled sac our bodies use as cushions around boney structures. We have them in our shoulders and hips, our elbows and our knees as well as many other places. In order to treat bursitis, we need to control the inflammation and remove the physical stress that is causing the bursa to become inflamed in the first place.
Disc Injuries
Disc injuries create many different symptoms and, in general, are very misunderstood by the public. At its core, disc problems arise most commonly when there is poor spinal alignment. Over time this poor spinal alignment decreases the health of the disc and can force it to bulge in different directions. Depending on where the disc bulges, this can cause severe pain, radiating pain, or even effect your organ systems. Disc issues may also arise from heavy lifting or other acute injuries. It is important for your chiropractor to diagnose which disc is the issue and to eliminate the negative physical pressures creating the problem.
Ear Infections
Ear infections are much more common in children than in adults, and the reason for this is the root cause of ear infections themselves. Our bodies fight off ear infections by draining our inner ears constantly. When we are no longer able to drain our ears properly, we have an increased risk of ear infections. We drain our ears with our eustachian tubes. In children, eustachian tubes are much smaller and are positioned in a much flatter position. That makes them much more likely to have problems draining their inner ears. With specific chiropractic adjustments to the ears and upper cervical spine, we allow the body to drain the inner ears as it was meant to, thus relieving the ear infections and preventing future ear infections. This process is normally painless and simple, easily improving the health of kids who suffer from ear infections.
Elbow Pain
Elbow pain can be cause by acute injuries or overuse. In dealing with elbow pain, we must first find the root cause of the problem. Treatment can vary from adjustments and rest, to muscle work and strengthening. It is up to your chiropractor to determine the root cause and create a treatment plan specific to your needs.
Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and tenderness in localized areas. As common as this disorder is, it is still widely misunderstood. At Healthy Day Chiropractic we have seen symptom improvement through basic nutritional changes, exercise and physical and emotional stress reduction.
Foot and Toe Pain
Your feet and toes are among the most underappreciated structures in your body. They bear much of our weight throughout each day. Outside of an acute injury to our feet, a common cause for foot and toe pain is the structural position of the bones of the foot. A healthy foot is supposed to have 3 arches. When we lose these arches, our feet are unable to healthily move and bear our weight. Adjustments and orthotics can be paramount in relieving pain and maintaining healthy feet.
Growing Pains
The true cause for growing pains is not fully understood. It is believed that the pain is muscle related due to the growth of the long bones in our bodies. Periods of significant growth are important times to see a chiropractor to prevent possible development issues in the future, such as unwanted curvatures in the spine. We can also teach proper stretching techniques to reduce growing pains and speed up recovery.

Knee Pain
Knee pain is very common and can occur for many different reasons. It is important to have an exam to determine what is causing the pain. The most common cause for unexplained, one sided knee, hip, or ankle pain is an imbalance in your pelvis. I can assess for the root cause and treat appropriately with specific chiropractic adjustments and exercises. If needed I can refer you to experts in orthopedics to resolve the condition and get you to your health goals faster.
Neck Pain
Neck pain is one of the most common reasons that people see a chiropractor, and there are many causes for it. The most common cause of neck pain is the loss of curvature in the cervical spine. This creates a slow build up physical stress over time, that will gradually increase the severity of the condition. That is why neck pain can vary from mild pain and tight muscles to severe pain with loss of motion and radiating symptoms.
Lower Back Pain
Worldwide, back pain is the single largest cause of disability. It can vary from acute injuries to chronic long-term issues. As with any condition with multiple possible causes, a proper diagnosis is paramount to proper treatment. Care can vary from specific chiropractic adjustments and traction to home exercises and stretching. At Healthy Day Chiropractic, we will educate you on how to reach your goals as soon as possible.
Upper Back Pain
Upper back pain is as common as neck pain, and for good reason. Most people’s upper back pain is caused by the poor posture and position of the neck. As we lose the proper curvature in our necks, it increases the physical pressure on our upper backs. It also causes the muscles in our upper back and neck to tense up. That is why everyone is always tight in these areas. With chiropractic adjustments and traction, we can reduce the physical stressors and train your body into a better position. This will provide pain relief and prevent future flare-ups.
Migraines and Headaches
There are many causes of migraines and headaches, but the most common cause is a misalignment of the upper cervical spine. When your upper neck is misaligned, it puts stress on the neurological structures in that area and causes the associated musculature to tense up. Depending on the location of the issue, that can cause everything from tension headaches to migraines. With chiropractic adjustments and education on the proper curve of the neck, we can eliminate and prevent migraines and headaches.
Muscle Tension
The number one cause of muscle tension is physical stressors building up on the joints that the muscles are associated with. In other words, when pressure builds up on joints, muscles tense up to try and protect these areas. That is why almost everyone has tense muscles at the base of the neck and shoulders. Our necks are constantly dealing with physical stressors, and these muscles are trying to protect us from injury.
Neck Pain
Neck pain can occur for various reasons, but the most common is chronic postural changes due to sitting. We all sit too much, whether it is for work, driving, watching a movie or another reason. The goal is not to eliminate sitting, because that is impossible. The goal is to train your neck into a better position so it can handle normal everyday stress, and to teach you what you can do to take the stress off at home.
Repetitive Stress Injuries
Repetitive stress injuries occur when there is repeated physical stressors in one spot. The most common repetitive stress injury is tendonitis, such as tennis elbow. In these cases, it is important to reduce the aggravating activity, control inflammation, reduce pressure on the joint, and strengthen the supporting muscles. This can be done with chiropractic adjustments, stretching and exercises.
Sciatica
Sciatica is any radiating symptom traveling down into your lower extremities. The nerves in your lower back control everything in your legs from sensation to how the muscles work. When there is pressure on a nerve, the radiating symptoms occur. There are several causes of sciatica and for this reason the most important step in helping the condition is a proper exam and diagnosis. With specific chiropractic adjustments, traction, and home exercises we can train your body into a better position. This will take pressure off the nerve, get you feeling better, and help prevent further flare-ups.
Scoliosis
Scoliosis is any lateral, or side to side curvature of the spine. From the front, your spine is meant to look straight up and down. The larger the curvature, the larger the problem that can occur. Most curvatures occur when children go through their growth spurts. That is why it is so important to examine children, to prevent and reduce any possible curvatures. This is done with specific chiropractic adjustments, exercises and, at times, bracing.
Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is a very dynamic joint, with large ranges of motion. Most shoulder pain is due to muscle imbalances and repetitive stress injuries. In order to fix the issue, we will need to find the overstressed area, support it to prevent future flare-ups, and strengthen the surrounding muscles.
